This Morning Routine Will Improve Your Mood
Keep Up A Routine.
Developing a routine and sticking to it, helps us as individuals to know how to plan and how to maximise our day.
When to Wake Up
A good daily habit is to get up at the same time each day. If this means using an alarm through an alarm clock, your phone, or asking someone to gently wake you at the same time each day, this will help to get you up and start the day. If you’re not staying up late on the weekends, continuing to get up at the same time as during the week, helps keep our body clock regarding sleep patterns in order. Otherwise known as the circadian system, having a stable and regular sleep / wake pattern helps our immune system stay at an optimum level.
Meditation
If you’re open to it, undertake a short 2 minute meditation to help clear the hazy thoughts from sleeping and allow your mind to be more on task and ready to start the day. There are lots of short meditation sessions available on YouTube, or on Apps that you can download. Meditation is no longer considered just for ‘hippies”, but is now considered to be a mainstream activity for mindful exercise.
Positive Thinking
Focus on the positives by considering what you can be thankful for. It sounds corny and cliched, however there is clear scientific evidence, the more you consciously think about positive thoughts, the more your brain will get into the habit of seeing situations in a less negative mindset.
